Epiphyllum guatemalense is a wonderfully unusual cactus, loved for its twisting, curling stems that create an almost sculptural effect. Each plant feels slightly different, with flowing, zig-zag shapes that give it a natural, artistic look.
Its trailing habit makes it perfect for shelves or hanging pots, where the stems can drape and develop freely. Even without flowers, it’s a real talking point—more like living art than a typical houseplant.
This epiphytic cactus prefers bright, indirect light and benefits from a bit of humidity. Water moderately, allowing the top layer of compost to dry slightly between waterings, and avoid letting it sit completely dry for long periods. A loose, well-draining mix works best.
