Mammillaria plumosa, often called the Feather Cactus, is one of the softest-looking cacti you’ll come across. Covered in fine, feathery white spines, it has a cloud-like appearance that feels almost too delicate to be real.
It forms gentle clusters over time, creating a cushion of soft texture that contrasts beautifully with more structured or spiny plants. Despite its appearance, it’s still a true cactus—just with a much softer edge.
It enjoys a bright position with good light and benefits from airflow due to its dense growth. Water lightly, allowing the soil to dry out fully between waterings, and always use a well-draining cactus compost.
