One of the most fascinating carnivorous plants to grow, Nepenthes ventricosa x lowii is a tropical, vine-like plant with pitchers growing from the ends of the green-bronze leaves. The pitcher’s sides are slippery and lined with downward-facing hairs, causing insects to fall into the acid liquid at the bottom of the cup. This exotic is also known as the Monkey Cup because monkeys and tree shrews enjoy drinking the liquid from the pitchers. They also sometimes defecate in the water, providing the plant with essential nutrients.
Nepenthes ventricoasa x lowii needs high humidity, moist soil, partial light, and warm temperatures all year round. And unlike many other carnivorous plants, it does not go dormant, so it’s easy to care for.
