This species is Cites I protected in the wild. Similar in appearance to flava, but a stockier trap. Produces curly winter leaves at the base. Very hardy. An excellent plant for hybridisation as it usually provides vigour and hardiness to the offspring. flowers are a soft yellow and are one of the first in the season. Because it grows in its own area in the wild there are no natural hybrids of this species. Its habitat is mountainous areas of North Eastern Alabama and Georgia. Sunny position. Stand in 2-5cm rainwater. Allow to die down in winter and cut off brown parts of trap.
